Hand to Hand Combat: Overview |
Jiu Jutsu was conceived and designed as a close combat systems used to defeat or control an enemy who is similarly unarmed. The fundamentals have evolved in to what the military and Law Enforcement communities refer to as Combatives. Combatives is a combination of Jiu Jitsu with the added tactical situation and equipment utilized by Law Enforcement and the military today to develop effective methods of defense, including parrying or blocking strikes, thrusts and kicks, receiving throws or joint-locking techniques, releasing oneself from an enemy's grasp, and changing or shifting one's position to evade or neutralize an attack. The course offered is consistent with the ARMY Combatives program tactics, techniques and procedures.
Length of Course: 5 Days
Course includes:
Standup work
Fight Stance and footwork (Balance and Maneuverability)
Defensive actions - Blocks and posturing
Strikes - Hand/Knee/Foot (Softening techniques)
Takedowns - Various position driven takedown techniques
Ground work
Mount control Techniques
Submissions
Search (Control standing and ground techniques)
Requirements:
- Fitness is key to preventing injury. All personnel must qualify under their agency fitness requirements
- Full Tactical Gear (Uniform and personnel gear)
- PT clothing (Sweat shirt/pants. Tennis Shoes.)
- No pre-existing injuries
